Africa’s most thrilling music and adventure festival is only a few short months away and the anticipation is electric! Upping the ante this year, festival organisers Seed Experiences have confirmed the legendary Mango Groove to headline this year’s carnival!

This multi-platinum-selling iconic band continues to embody the biodiversity of Africa through their original, uplifting sound. Their unique, fresh blend of South African Marabi, Kwela and Pop influences, together with the voice and presence of Claire Johnston and the evocative penny whistle melodies of Mduduzi Magwaza, have captivated audiences around the world for decades and are now coming to Zimbabwe to ring in the New Year!

Heating up the line-up are one of SA’s most successful electronic acts, GoodLuck, who are best known for their hit “Taking it Easy”, with over one million Youtube views! Hot off their year of touring Europe and Africa they’ll create an unbelievable music experience with their slinky electro swing!

Originating from the beautiful setting of our festival, Victoria Falls, Mokoomba have conquered Europe with their wildly energetic shows fusing ethno-jazz, traditional Tonga rhythms, Sahara blues, and salsa. This blend of local Tonga and global influences will no doubt create that truly African experience our fans have come to expect.

To round up our first artist announcement we’re also adding a couple of titans of the decks into the mix. First up is Hidden Culture founder, Neverland organiser and ZiFM DJ, the all-round music pioneer Jason Le Roux. With a disregard for genres and a penchant for Afrocentric elements, Zyon Black will bring his unique brand of bass music to the festival. Winner of the 2013 DJ Idols competition, Bhana, who has now solidified his place as one of Zimbabwe’s top DJ’s will also be spinning the decks. Lastly DJ Rax who has been collaborating with major African artists & playing at some of the country’s biggest events joins this electric lineup.

29 December 2015:

The famous train party: Take a vintage steam train journey through the Victoria Falls National Park to a secret location deep in the African bush. With Sub-Saharan Africa DJ’s pumping top tunes through the classic carriages, you’ll be in full party mood when you disembark at the secret stage set up under the African skies.

After selling out in record time last year, the organisers have made the exciting decision to run multiple trips to and from the secret venue, increasing the number of party-goers able to revel in this truly unique experience.

30 December 2015:

Your festival ticket will act as key while you are left free to wander through the streets of Vic Falls as the town lights up with wonderful events hosted by the local backpackers, lodges and bars.

On the evening of 29th and 30th there will be parties in town at multiple venues with free entrance for festival ticket holders. Shuttles will ferry fans to and from the party venues to specific hotels and drop-off points.

31 December 2015:

Prepare for an unparalleled New Year’s Eve experience as over 6,000 revellers, top bands, DJ’s from all over Africa, stilt walkers, fire dancers countdown to midnight. THOUSANDS TURN OUT TO RING IN THE NEW YEAR, AT ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD AT THE JAMESON VIC FALLS CARNIVAL

For the second year in a row the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival (JVFC) totally rocked the spectacular Victoria Falls as over 5,000 revelers from all over the world descended on the national heritage park for an unforgettable New Years’ experience. Three days of sensational music, adventure and adrenalin activities set at one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The festival kicked off on the 29th of December with the sold-out Train & Secret Bush Party. 500 lucky ticket holders had the chance to take a beautiful old world steam train through the Vic Falls wilderness while local DJ, DJ Francis created an exceptional atmosphere for the universal partiers, all connected through their love of music and adventure. With local and African artists like South Africa’s Dan C and Toby 2 Shoes and Botswana’s Sebastian Dutch the experience continued off the train, deep in the bush, set amongst Africa’s wildlife and lit up by green Jameson glow sticks and a canopy of African stars.

After an extraordinary first night, for the first time ever, on the 30th of December the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival burst into a multi-coloured hue of celebration with the Colour Festival! CU Rage from Namibia quickly set a tone for day’s festivities while attendees, dressed in white, grabbed their packets of pink, green, yellow, blue and orange powder. Zambian Eleftherios Mukuka, South African Anthea Scholtz, and Namibian Rob Macson & Nic Fourie kept the crowd jamming while they threw their packets in the air and covered the blissful partiers in neon shades.

As expected New Year’s eve was the highlight of the exciting festival. Set at the local Vic Falls Farm School, thousands of local and international attendees turned out for a New Year’s unlike any other. Zim’s afro-classic band Intotal opened the night with their live jazz infused set. Followed by the charismatic Zambian Winky D, dressed in a full vibrant orange suit with matching headdress and shoes, he had the audience in the palm of his hand, calling out ‘We are all ninja’s”, he got everyone in the spirit to ring in the New Year. South African chart toppers Beatenberg took to the stage next and although their lead singer Matthew lost his voice and was unable to perform they promised to give everyone a special DJ set and they definitely delivered with their indie house mix including their own hits Pluto, Chelsea Blakemore and Rafael.

The crowd went crazy for local legend, Oliver Mtukudzi, who, through his uniquely soulful set, united the global fanbase, with his humble yet passionate presence. The crowd hanging on his every word and movement, a true highlight of the evening. Goldfish completely took over the stage with their engaging theatrical performance starting off with a dramatic Lion King intro reminding everyone of the beautiful setting. Their energized set included a spectacular laser show, huge inflatable balls, live instruments and their renowned screen animations. The night reached a climax with the engaging local MC Tinashe, cheering the crowd on for the New Year’s with a 1 minute countdown, culminating in the moment, where all present ushered out the old year and together, welcomed in the new year, all to the backtrack of Goldfish’s addictive dance hits, African adorned stilt walkers weaved through the crowd and LED poi dancers on the stage all joined in the sensational New Year’s moment! Zimbabwe’s Jason Le Roux kept the festival attendees on the dance floor with a great DJ set and Judgement Yard closed the epic evening with their trademark dancehall tunes.

Despite the rain party lovers couldn’t stay away from carnival and grabbed their DStv ponchos, creating a sea of blue-hooded party people sipping on Jameson. Whether you were getting your name printed on a Coca Cola can or chilling in the rustic outdoor Zambezi beer garden, the festival kept overjoyed attendees in the New Year’s spirit.

Festival organizers Seed Experiences stayed true to their environmental ethos by bringing Environment Africa onboard to give festival goers the option to ‘green their ticket’ by donating $5 with which the organization plants a tree on their behalf.

Staying true to its proudly African roots, the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival has released another wave of artists bolstering the local Zimbabwean and Namibian offering, adding to the already impressive lineup of Goldfish Live, Beatenberg, Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi and Winky D.

Kicking off the exciting new acts, Zimbabwe’s electronic music poster boy and Hidden Culture founder, and ZiFM DJ, Jason Le Roux will keep the crowds on their feet until the early hours. Providing tour support to international superstar DJ’s like Hardwell (one-time world no. 1 DJ), Yolanda Be Cool, Alex Kenji, Belocca & Groove Armada to name a few, it’s safe to say Jason Le Roux is no stranger to rocking dance floors to amazing levels, which those lucky enough to have been at last year’s Jameson Vic Falls Carnival will vividly remember!

Festival favourites and one of Zimbabwe’s most popular music acts, Judgement Yard return to the festival to entertain and unify festival-goers with their energetic blend of dance hall, reggae and ragga, From their weekly radio show to their renowned live performances this trio have a dedicated following and are an electric act to experience on stage.

Legendary spin doctor, DJ Francis, will once again get the party started with a mix of tunes spanning the decades from 60’s rock ‘n roll to the disco hits of the 80’s, right through to the latest electronic sounds of the 20th century. A regular on the Zimbabwean DJ scene, this muso has been on the decks for over 20 years.

Hailing from Swakopmund and thrilling audiences in their native Namibia for the past few years, the CU_Rage unit make their debut at the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival. Having played with the best DJ’s in Namibia, they will now energise this New Year’s festival with their Dubstep and House skills.

Last but not least, the award-winning record producer and composer Eleftherios Mukuka will bring an exhilarating cultural blend to the festival. His diverse mix of genres and innovative approach to fusion music – melting together Greek traditional music with sub-saharan African sounds, in both classical and electronic dance music form – is a welcome addition to this globally appealing music festival.

Jameson Vic Falls Carnival hails in 2014 at once-in-a-lifetime three-day New Year’s festival!

Thousands of party-goers from around Africa and the world partied into 2014 as the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival lived up to its promise to be bigger, louder and much more fun.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…Happy New Year! Truly a New Year’s countdown like nowhere else on earth, the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival confirmed its position as Africa’s most exhilarating three-day New Year’s festival as it welcomed thousands of travellers and party-goers from around Africa and the world to the majestic Victoria Falls to usher in 2014.

The three-day Carnival was a non-stop party, adventure and fun as a packed programme and artist line-up ensured visitors were entertained throughout the festival. Kicking off the Carnival was the legendary Steam Train Party Express, which took party-goers on a vintage steam train journey to a secret bush location where a party was waiting with top DJs like DJ Francis, DJ AceDaBass and Liver.

The party moved to the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival festival site at the Victoria Falls Farm School, where the main stage rocked for two incredible nights to the sounds of the impressive line-up of musicians and artists from around Southern Africa.

Zimbabwe band, Mokoomba was a hit with the crowds and South African legends and carnival headliners Just Jinjer did not disappoint, while South African bands ISO and December Streets got the crowd jumping.

For the last night of 2013 the line-up ensured a party never to forget. The atmosphere was electric as revelers partied into 2014 to Chikwata 263, Shortstraw, Jeremy Loops and Mampi, while the original pop EDM super sound of Flash Republic made sure the final hour of 2013 was explosive. Jason Le Roux, Judgement Yard, DJ Cmbaville and DJ AceDaBass kept the partying going well into the early hours of the first day of 2014.

When they weren’t partying, visitors to this year’s Carnival made sure they visited the breath-taking Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and many got their adrenaline going as they took part in the host of adventure activities on offer like river rafting, bungee jumping and gorge swinging.

Certainly an important aspect of the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival was its environmental and greening initiatives. TM Supermarkets, in conjunction with Environment Africa, created a Green Village, which focused on bringing awareness to charities and initiatives involved in conservation, preservation and the environment through interactive artworks and activations.

Event organisers Seed Experiences’ months of preparation meant thousands of visitors enjoyed a world-class event. An incredible line-up, top event production, sound and lighting, bar and food infrastructure and the smooth running of the event ensured the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival will remain top of the list of the best New Year’s parties to attend in 2014.
