Nora en Pure In South Africa

South African-born international Deep and Indie House sensation Nora en Pure will be in SA as part of her three-city tour this March.

Best known for her breakthrough track ‘Come With Me’, which catapulted her into the spotlight in 2013 and remained at the top of global charts for over seven months, Nora has already played at some of the most incredible dance music events around the world, including Ultra Music Festival Miami, Mysteryland USA and Webster Hall New York City.

Oliver Schories at Shimmy Beach Club


Shimmy Beach Club, in association with Strange Loving and Corona, are bringing German Deep House DJ, Oliver Schories, to Cape Town to perform on the famed Shimmy stage. Cape Town’s premier lifestyle venue will play host to ‘Corona Sunsets’ which will begin on the Shimmy Pool Deck, continue on the domed stage that overlooks the Atlantic, and culminate in the club in the early hours.

Hamburg-based Oliver Schories is one of the most booked DJs and live acts today, and is among the latest wave of promising music producers with a penchant for deep and emotive techno to grace Shimmy’s summer lineup. Schories will be joined by talented support acts including ANOUKA, a fellow German native and SOSO label artist, as well as local favourites Pierre-Estienne, Floyd Lavine, Ian Skene, Ryan Murgatroyd, Brett Aitken and Burn to Tape.

Shimmy Beach Club, Cape Town’s hottest club and restaurant, has just announced another artist to add to their ever-growing list of phenomenal internationals. Ukrainian electro and progressive house DJ and YouTube sensation, Juicy M is confirmed to play live at Shimmy, in the V&A Waterfront, on 11 October 2015.

Much to fan’s excitement, this beauty, voted Best Female DJ of the year in 2010, and among the Top 100 DJs on the Planet by DJ Mag Poll, The DJ List poll and others, has added Cape Town to her South African tour. She is best known for her videos on YouTube mixing with four CDJ players without using headphones, which has had over 7 million views since the first upload. She has also opened for huge music acts such as the Black Eyed Peas, Backstreet Boys, Afrojack, Jay Sean and Skrillex.

Juicy M is set to perform on the Shimmy stage, which has seen the likes of international artists such as Robin Schulz, Showtek, Bakermat, Worakls and other international house music DJs. This sets Shimmy aside as the best nightlife venue in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront.

Studio 54 party at Shimmy Beach Club

Shimmy Beach Club, voted Cape Town’s hottest club by Zomato, will host a Studio 54 themed party in the venue’s club on 15 June 2015, brought to you by Windermere Traditional Crafted Cider. Studio 54, frequented by film stars and celebrities in the 70’s, is considered to be the most famous club of all time. Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton, Diana Rossand so many more were often seen entering and leaving its famous doors.

Visit Shimmy on 15 June to relive one of the most legendary nightclubs in the world – Shimmy is Cape Town’s favourite club and Studio 54 used to be New York’s best club! The wild success of the club is said to be Studio 54’s rule for a good party: Invite guests more interesting than you. The dress code was “Glamour only” and heightened the club’s signature experience. Opened in 1977 for just 33 months, it made US$7 million in its first year. Bianca Jagger rode a white horse through the club on her 30th birthday and owner Steve Rubell once gave Andy Warhol a bin full of money for his birthday.

Shimmy Beach Club, South Africa’s premier venue and restaurant, has released its winter menu focusing on comfort food with strong Italian and Mediterranean influence. Expect traditional flavours presented in an unconventional way. The new menu will be available in the restaurant from 13 May to the end of June.

Humble ingredients will be turned into fantastic dishes that are warm and inviting for cosy winter evenings. Top quality local ingredients are sourced for fragrant meals like Lamb Shank pot pie with Candied Butternut; or the Oxtail Tortellini with Pumpkin Puree and Sage Beurre Noisette. There are several surprises on the dessert list such as Guava Cheesecake, with Macadamia crust, Peanut Butter ice-cream and strawberries in lime-stock; or the Honey Pistachio Panna Cotta with figs. Those following a Banting diet, can look forward to a sushi or pizza option.

Shimmy Winter Glow Club Edition

Shimmy Beach Club, recently voted as Cape Town’s best club by Zomato, has revealed a line-up of parties for its winter season and as part of its ‘Winter Glow: Club Edition’ campaign. This ultimate lifestyle venue balances the style of international party life and the laid-back atmosphere of Cape Town rivaling the likes of Monaco and Ibiza’s beach club scene.

The Shimmy Club will host weekend parties every Friday and Saturday throughout winter featuring resident DJs and other local and national talents. They have partnered with brands such as Heineken, Croc and Biscuit to create exciting and entertaining nights out.

Shimmy Beach Club, Cape Town’s premier beach club and restaurant, has another monumental announcement up its sleeve. German chart-topping DJ and hit-maker, Robin Schulz is confirmed to play at Shimmy on 10 May 2015.

This much-anticipated add on to the Shimmy 2015 lineup comes as part of Robin Schulz’ South African Tour, where he is headlining for the Sound Of Light event.  Cape Town is already abuzz with the news about Schulz, whose remix of Lilly Wood & The Prick’s “Prayer in C” has achieved number one status in the iTunes charts in 27 countries. He is set to perform on the Shimmy stage which has seen the likes of international artists such as Bakermat, Worakls, Joris Delacroix, Camilo Franco, David Morales, KANT, Avrosse and many more!
