The ninth annual Ballito Street Party ‘Get Ready To Jump’ saw 9,000 New Year’s revelers celebrate in epic proportions to see in 2014. The street party featured the hugely talented Ibiza resident DJ Danny Avila, along with a 5FM powerhouse line-up including Gareth Cliff, Roger Goode, DJ Milkshake and many more.
Known as SA’s biggest New Year’s Eve party, this year’s bash had five sensational dance floors, hugely impressive lighting, technical design and audio setup – it was a New Year’s party never to forget.
The main floor saw 5FM’s ever-popular Gareth Cliff, eccentric dance maestro Roger Goode and Hip Hop phenomenon Milkshake captivate the crowd as they mingled and danced to the latest beats. SA’s favourite dance duo, Pascal & Pearce, Ian Credible and Kyle Worde also tore up the decks throughout the night, keeping the party-goers jumping to their phenomenal sets. The exclusive VIP Crush Floors saw all the party action above the crowd and hosted Veranda Panda, Jamie K and G-Funk whilst the Beat Burra Floor featured Funky G, Brent Crude and Woody for a beat heavy dance set.
The Samsung #GalaxyExperience team were also on hand to show the audience the best time ever and to bring that extra touch to Galaxy device owners by offering special prizes to reward them for owning the hottest handset in SA.
After a day at the beach enjoying the scorching Durban weather, party-goers showed off their bronzed tans under the illumination of Samsung #GalaxyExperience massive firework display whilst grooving to some banging tunes way into the night to see the clock strike twelve and then party into the first sunrise of 2014.
I was lucky enough to attend the first Sensation event in South Africa on the 7th September 2013 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. I was dead keen to attend but battled to convince anyone to join me as most assumed it was going to be a stereotypical rave with glow-sticks.
The first South African Sensation event was a sell-out – 17,000 people dressed in white to dance the night away to headline DJ acts from Europe. Cant wait till next year…
