Electric Summer 2015

3d360pro productions proudly announces the inaugural Electric Summer Music Festival, a one-day music experience powered by 5FM. Featuring an exciting line-up of international and local artists. Headlining at both the Johannesburg and Cape Town events is the Grammy-award winning UK-based band, Clean Bandit

The British collaborators shot to fame with their orchestral-led tracks ‘Rather Be’ and ‘Real Love,’ and have recently appeared at renowned events such as The Secret Garden Party, Bestival and Field Day. Their culture clash of bass, beats and soaring strings evokes the sounds of classic Massive Attack and Basement Jaxx, all with a brand new electro twist. Their debut release ‘Mozart’s House’ on their own label, Incredible Industries, achieved resounding support whilst their latest EP,‘A&E’ on Black Butter Records, has been a world-chart topper.

Electric Summer are also thrilled to announce SA’s most-loved Electronic DJ Duo, Goldfish, will be co-headlining along with Clean Bandit at this year’s festival.

Dominic Peters and David Poole have re-invented the very concept of what a DJ should be, taking their live performances to a whole new level. Their genre-defying live mix of sax, double bass, keyboard and pounding house beats have touched a nerve with audiences across the world. They will be joining Electric Summer to spread some musical love to their home crowds.

As a brand new edition to the South African Market, Electric Summer will push the boundaries, offering an eclectic mix of cutting edge production that is set to transform the stages of Cape Town’s Hamilton’s Club and Johannesburg’s Zoo Lake into a rockin’ Summer Music festival experience.

Joining the Electric summer team, Castle Lite Lime, the newest member of the Extra Cold family. We added a dash of lime flavour to South Africa’s favourite beer. Unlock Extra Cold Refreshment!

General Admission tickets for the 2015 festival are now available:

The 2015 lineup features national acts including 5fm Dj’s, PH Fat and Paul Bingham. More to be announced on our socials:

This multi-platinum-selling iconic band continues to embody the biodiversity of Africa through their original, uplifting sound. Their unique, fresh blend of South African Marabi, Kwela and Pop influences, together with the voice and presence of Claire Johnston and the evocative penny whistle melodies of Mduduzi Magwaza, have captivated audiences around the world for decades and are now coming to Zimbabwe to ring in the New Year!

To round up our first artist announcement we’re also adding a couple of titans of the decks into the mix. First up is Hidden Culture founder, Neverland organiser and ZiFM DJ, the all-round music pioneer Jason Le Roux. With a disregard for genres and a penchant for Afrocentric elements, Zyon Black will bring his unique brand of bass music to the festival. Winner of the 2013 DJ Idols competition, Bhana, who has now solidified his place as one of Zimbabwe’s top DJ’s will also be spinning the decks. Lastly DJ Rax who has been collaborating with major African artists & playing at some of the country’s biggest events joins this electric lineup.

Rodriguez, the legendary singer-songwriter known only by his surname began performing in bars and clubs around the city of Detroit in the 1960s, and it was there that he recorded two studio albums, ‘Cold Fact’ in 1969 and ‘Coming from Reality’ in 1971. These compositions went unnoticed in the U.S. and Rodriguez eventually turned his efforts elsewhere, earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Wayne State University, running for political office and working construction and factory jobs to support his family.

Rodriguez was unaware that he had reached legendary folk-rock super stardom status in South Africa, where mistaken rumours circulated that he had perished. In the late 1990s, South African fans finally sought him out, leading to the unanticipated renaissance of his music career. Their story is told in the 2012 Oscar award-winning documentary, Searching for Sugarman, which has given Rodríguez a new measure of fame worldwide.

He has perhaps one of the most unique true stories of fleeting fame finally realized. Rodriguez is enjoying the collective heartfelt dream of a musician, beating the odds and finding a place in music history. With a music career that has withstood the test of time; the story of Rodriguez is one of sweet success.

His last tour to South Africa sold out in minutes performing to over 40,000 fans across 9 shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg.  Don’t miss an evening with the legendary Rodriguez as he returns to South Africa in 2016 to play all your favourite songs.
